Tatamu K18 Akoya Cultured Pearl Ring. Minimal japanese jewelry from Tokyo.

The word “tatamu” and its motion may be unique to the Japanese culture.
It is similar to “folding,” but slightly different.
It means to fold an object so that its corner and edge are perfectly fit together exactly each other.

This Tatamu ring features a slightly baroque Akoya pearl on a folded gold plate.

Our lives are made comfortable by the daily accumulation of the trivial motion of “Tatamu”.
In the daily movements that we repeat unknowingly,
The careful way of life oozes out,
It seems that this is where the essence of the beauty of human life lies.

Uwajima Pearls

These Akoya pearls cultivated in the sea of Uwajima, Ehime Prefecture in Japan.

All of those pearls may not be perfect spheres.

Even if they have some Baroque Pearl, their pearls shine the best.

*  Note that each pearl is slightly different in shape.
